The wedding dress shape guide.
Finding the perfect wedding dress shape for your body can sometimes feel like a minefield. Ultimately, this is your body and your dress, so you should be wearing whatever you want! Whether that means it’s something a little different to what you ‘should’ be wearing, who cares?! But if you’re just looking for a bit of help understanding the different dress shapes, or you need some direction on matching your body shape to a gown, here are my tips on all the different styles…

Discover A-line styles…
The A-line silhouette is perfect for those wanting to cinch in their waist, so great for apple or straight body shapes. It will highlight your natural waist and flow over everything below, so you’ll be super comfortable. (You may even be able to high kick if you want to!)
Go for an A-line with a gathered waist for more volume, like Nahla for example. Nahla has gathers and elasticated waist for ultimate comfort, and the feeling of free movement everywhere! Or try something like Billie. She is softer at the waist and just skims over your hips.

Try a Two Piece…
Now this is something a bit different, right? Who would want to wear a two piece to their wedding? Actually, so many brides have opted for the bridal separates lately! It’s a way of saying ‘I’m relaxed and chilled, but also a bride’. A bridal two piece is the new normal for weddings. It’s just so versatile! You can show off a bit of torso or keep it covered. You can wear the skirt so that it sits perfectly at your waist. You can mix and swap skirt styles with top styles. The options are endless!
Take our Noa gown for example. We styled with a little bit of torso on show, but her top can be tucked in if you’d prefer! The skirt is a functional wrap, and so is the top, meaning you won’t need alterations to get it to fit you perfectly, because you just tie it as tight or as loose as you’d like!

Explore the Sheath gowns…
Bring out your sexy side in a fitted wedding dress shape! Perfect for girls wanting to show off every curve! Ideal for the hourglass or pear figure. But honestly, any shape or size, if you want to highlight your figure, just do it!
A sheath gown is soft and subtle with no flamboyant flare, just an elegant silhouette. Go for lacey details like our Aura gown. She is full of panelling along the hips which help shape and contour your body. Or keep it simple with our Luna dress, and go completely plain. Luna has more of a ‘clean’ feel, meaning you can go wild with jewellery and flowers!

Find your perfect Fishtail…
A fishtail, similar to a sheath, is a style that accentuate every curve of your body! Fishtails just have more volume in the hem. The Arlo gown for example, has a seam below the knees where pleats have been added to the fabric for a full effect. Kick the hem out while you walk for a touch of drama.
