Introducing Chloe and Sam. Our newest couple!

"I literally loved the whole process, from first chatting ideas with Evie, to seeing the initial designs, fittings and then the final results! I would always wake up so excited on the mornings I got to go see Evie and my dress!" - Chloe

When Chloe approached me, I knew she was my kinda' girl and that we were really going to have some fun. Chloe was incredibly trusting in me which is a huge part of designing a bespoke look. For a bride, it's hard to commit before seeing the final piece, which is something you have to do in this process. It's not like shopping for a gown where you try on the final product and say yes or no. Chloe didn't see the final gown until just a few weeks before her big day.

I have to say, every step of the way, Chloe was so open minded and just loved all the ideas we threw around. She even said 'It's because you just know what I like!'. We were both just completely on the same page.

Fun fact: Chloe modelled for me at The Ethical Wedding Fair at @wellingtonwood last year. She saw the ‘Maye’ gown and fell in love with the fabric. So we used this exact fabric for Chloe’s gown. It’s a satin back crepe, paired with a separate overlay made of chiffon and embroidered organza for the standout sleeves ✨

What made you want to design your own gown?

I have been sketching up wedding gown designs ever since I was little! I am quite a creative person and I think I always knew I would want to design my own dress! When I got engaged I went to a few shops to try on dresses and could never find one with everything I loved in it! I always had changes to make or things I wanted to add, I knew the only way I could have my dream dress was to design my own one! There is something so special about having a dress made especially for you- there is no one else in the world with exactly the same dress as me, it truly is one of a kind!

What was your favourite part of the process?

I literally loved the whole process, from first chatting ideas with Evie, to seeing the initial designs, fittings and then the final results! I would always wake up so excited on the mornings I got to go see Evie and my dress! It was amazing to be so involved in the whole process, Evie was incredible at letting me make changes when I had new ideas, anything is possible with her on your team! I loved watching the full process of the dress changing each week seeing the sketches become a reality. I also loved my wedding chats and giggles with Evie the whole way through!

A few images here from the exciting creation process. The OG red gown didn't have any trim on the cuff of the cap sleeves and we wanted to make it a little more special. The final gown had these crepe covered buttons from the neck to the hem, so we mirrored this through the circle trim on the cuff. Super cute, right?!

Did you have any worries before or throughout creating your gown?

I think initially I was worried that I wouldn’t have much say in what I wanted to do with my gown or that some of my ideas wouldn’t be achievable, but as soon as I met Evie I knew she was the woman for the job. She put me at complete ease and was just as enthusiastic (if not more!) about my gown as me! Nothing was too difficult for her and I felt totally relaxed through the whole process, it helped that she was giving me regular updates on my dress and allowed me to come see it throughout the process!

Do you have any advice regarding the big day, for engaged couples?

YES! I know it’s so much easier said than done, but try your best to enjoy the whole process of planning! I kept saying that planning a wedding is just like planning a massive party with your best friend! Luckily Sam and I are both quite laid back people, but we definitely had our moments of stress during the planning! Realistically on your wedding day you won’t notice the small things like the colour of the candles or the font on the name places! Try your best but also remember to go easy on  yourself! I would also say- be selfish! This you are your partners day! What do you want your day to be like, what music do you enjoy, what food do you enjoy? Finally my advice for the big day would be stick by your partner! Sam and I didn’t leave each other’s side the whole wedding, we wanted to soak the whole day in and experience it together! The day can be so busy and you are the star of the show so everyone wants to talk to you, it can be easy to be separated and have two completely different experiences of the day! Remember to stop once and a while and take it all in, you will reflect on this day for years to come so try and be present!
